Curvv.ev Breaks Records: Kashmir to Kanyakumari in 76 Hours

In a milestone for India’s EV journey, TATA.ev’s Curvv.ev has set a new record for the fastest electric vehicle drive from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, covering 3,823 km in 76 hours and 35 minutes. The drive was 19 hours faster than the previous record and marked a significant step in proving the viability of long-distance EV travel.

Pushing the Limits of EV Travel

The journey, which began at 4:00 AM on February 25 in Srinagar, saw the Curvv.ev tackle diverse terrains and unpredictable weather before reaching Kanyakumari at 8:35 AM on February 28. Along the way, it required just 16 charging stops, reducing total charging time from 28 hours to 17 hours, thanks to India’s rapidly growing fast-charging network.

The achievement was recognized at both ends, with Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah flagging off the drive and MP Thiru Vijay Vasanth welcoming the team in Kanyakumari.

India’s EV Infrastructure is Catching Up

One of the biggest takeaways from this journey was the role of improved charging infrastructure. Compared to the 2023 Nexon EV drive, where route adjustments were needed to find charging stations, the Curvv.ev covered a shorter distance with minimal detours.

Key improvements:

✅ 18,000+ charging stations nationwide – a 227% increase since 2023

✅ Fast chargers every 50 km on 85% of national highways

✅ iRA.ev app helps drivers locate and plan charging stops more efficiently

A Turning Point for EV Adoption?

Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., emphasized that this was more than just a record-breaking drive:

“This journey proves that EVs can handle long-distance travel as seamlessly as fuel-powered vehicles. The combination of improved charging speed, better infrastructure, and advanced battery technology is changing the game.”

What’s Next?

With this achievement, TATA.ev aims to build confidence in EV adoption. The Curvv.ev is now available at ₹17.49 lakh, offering a mix of range, efficiency, and cutting-edge EV technology.

As India’s charging network expands and technology advances, road trips in EVs are no longer about range anxiety—they’re about what’s possible.
